Got questions?

How long will  students have access to Epic Free?

Epic Free will be available for the foreseeable future.  For this year’s back to school - whether students are learning remotely, in-person, or a hybrid of both, Epic will be free for educators and it’ll continue to be free when schools fully reopen. Until June, 2021, students will be able to log in to Epic School from anywhere using their class code - from 6 am to 3 pm local time, Monday through Friday.

Reading with Epic doesn’t have to end when school is out. You can keep fueling your students’ love of reading after hours with Epic Free. When parents sign up for an Epic Free account using their email addresses, their kids can access a limited selection of Epic books, plus two free hours of reading per week.

What content is included in the Epic Free library? How is the content on Epic Free different from the Epic School library they access in class?

Epic Free includes:

  • 2 hours of weekly free reading per student (timer resets every Monday)

  • A limited selection of high-quality educational books, both fiction and nonfiction (including Read-To-Me books)

Epic Free will NOT include:

  • Some of the books available in the Epic School Library (both fiction and nonfiction)

  • Audiobooks

  • Learning videos

Remote Student Access was developed as a quick response to sudden school closures nationwide, and it allowed students and their families free access to Epic Unlimited with an invitation from a teacher, through June 30. Epic Unlimited includes 40k books, audiobooks, and learning videos, including all of our premium content, which is normally priced at $7.99 / mo.

What if students want to access Epic’s full library?

Epic Unlimited empowers kids with unlimited access to all 40,000 of Epic’s books—plus unlimited reading time— for $7.99/monthly. This includes access to all of Epic’s books, audiobooks, learning videos and more from over 250 leading publishers, such as HarperCollins, Macmillan, Sesame Street, National Geographic Kids and Smithsonian.

What devices can be used to access Epic Free?

Epic is available on any web browser (on a laptop or desktop computer), or the Epic app on any iOS or Android device. (Be sure to update the app for the latest version.)
